Connecting Community for Kids

Connecting Community for Kids is an early years place-based initiative using a collective impact approach in the City of Cockburn and City of Kwinana, Western Australia.

Supported by Woodside Development Fund, the initiative is community led and brings together service providers, community groups and government agencies to respond to community identified childhood vulnerability themes – child health, social isolation, financial strain and safety. 

We build the capacity and empower the community to creating social changes based on the four themes identified above. Action teams are implementing circuit breakers for change with the vision to build strong, safe communities where together we can help our children thrive. 

Our community outcomes are 

• Children are on optimal development pathways through early intervention child health 

• Parents are well supported during the early years of their child’s life 

• Families are socially connected to others within the community 

• Strong community spirit and cultural inclusion is celebrated
